Student Memories
Former students will often candidly reflect on their years at Winston and the transformational learning experiences they encounter at the School. The following is just a sampling of comments shared by graduates:
“The Winston School showed me a world of “I can” instead of “I can’t.” The teachers taught me that I can do anything that I put my mind to.”
“At Winston I have had to work harder than in my old school and I definitely learned more here. I learned a lot about how to read better. I also learned about writing poetry.”
“Winston’s supportive environment helped me reach my goals.”
“I don’t think I ever would have finished high school without the outstanding personal attention that The Winston School provided. There was a time when I thought I would never learn to read. Now I look forward to returning to graduate school for my MBA.”
“Winston taught me that lots of people learn differently.”
“When I came to The Winston School, I kept thinking, ‘Wow! This school is tiny! How are they going to help me do my schoolwork better?’ But after a few days, I realized tiny is better. Smaller classes mean that the teacher can help you more if he or she does not have twelve other kids to help.”
“I owe everything to Winston. If I had not come to Winston, I would have had to repeat a grade. With the help I got here, I am doing great and I am a little ahead of my grade.”
“When I came to Winston, I didn’t think I could learn or even read well. The School showed me I could achieve any goal through hard work. I have taken the skills I learned at Winston and used them to help me achieve success in all of my academic areas.”
“The teachers at Winston are some of the most amazing people you will ever meet.”
“I would like to thank The Winston School and its entire faculty for always standing by me and helping me through difficult times. They have prepared me for my next school and made it possible for me to succeed in life.”
