MISSION STATEMENT
The Winston School educates students who, though intellectually capable, have had difficulties in school typically
due to language-based learning disabilities.
The goal of The Winston School is to enable our students to meet with confidence, the academic and social challenges of
life.
The Winston School fosters the potential and optimism in each child by cultivating intellectual, social and emotional
growth in a positive and stimulating environment.
WHO WE ARE
The Winston School, an independent, non-profit coeducational day school, draws students in grades 3–8 from public and
private schools encompassing 25 communities throughout New Jersey. Winston is located in an historic building in a beautiful, wooded
section of Short Hills, where a gymnasium, playground, and soccer field accommodate the physical education program, and bright,
attractive classrooms welcome the students each day.
The Winston School is governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of current parents, parents of alumni, and
friends of the school.
The Winston School is accredited by the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools and by the Middle
States Association of
Colleges and Schools and is also a member of the National Association of Independent Schools.
